Grand Theft Auto 5 Missing Vehicle Fix

With any large sprawling open world game there are bound to be some problems out of the gate. Such is the case with Grand Theft Auto 5, and a recent problem with some of the game’s vehicles.

Many gamers are reporting that vehicles have started disappearing after completing some missions and then checking their garage. This wouldn’t be too much of a disappointment otherwise, but because GTA 5 includes new vehicle upgrades many gamers are losing out on their purchases.

Luckily, Rockstar Games is well aware of the problem and is working on a fix for Grand Theft Auto 5. Their solution in the mean time is to avoid “parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades.”

Rockstar Games has also set-up an e-mail notification to alert gamers whenever the fix goes live. All gamers need to do is head to the Support Site and click “Subscribe” at the top of the page. That way, any gamers who wanted to put Grand Theft Auto 5 on the back burner (if that’s even possible) until the fix won’t miss any more play time than they need to.

In the grand scheme of things, the vehicle disappearing problem is small potatoes when compared to the types of problems we have seen in other open world games. One such issue that has become prevalent far too often in open world games is a game save bug that inflates the save file and eventually makes the game unplayable.

We saw it with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim on PS3 and it was a major problem for Borderlands 2 on all systems. In other words, if a disappearing vehicle is the most annoying problem in Grand Theft Auto 5, it might be worth accepting. Imagine being unable to play one of the biggest games of the year.

We also just posted our early impressions post for Grand Theft Auto 5 for any anxious to read our thoughts. Our full review of Rockstar’s latest opus should go live very soon so stick tuned to Game Rant for that as well.

Have you encountered the disappearing vehicle glitch in Grand Theft Auto 5? Are there any other problems you have noticed in the game?

Grand Theft Auto 5 is out now for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
